Terence Keyes is a trial lawyer located in St. Augustine, Florida focused on construction law. He was born and raised in Jacksonville and graduated from Bishop Kenny High School. Terry started his career in Florida’s criminal courts and practiced criminal defense for several years.  He later worked in civil practice where he handled cases in the areas of construction litigation, real estate litigation, and property insurance disputes.

Mr. Keyes has represented contractors, individuals, homeowners, and businesses throughout his career.  His experience includes litigation/arbitration of construction defects, liens, building code violations, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, property damage and poor workmanship claims, and Florida Homeowner Construction Recovery Fund hearings.  He has handled claims involving custom home building, renovations/repairs, stucco application, mold remediation, roof damage, leaking pipes, construction delays, and breach of contract, to name a few.

Mr. Keyes obtained his bachelors degree from Stetson University and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law.  During law school Terry served on the law review board and was awarded the “Book Award” in Constitutional Law for earning the highest grade in his class.  In addition to his academic achievements, Terry was voted “Law Review Member of the Year” by his peers on law review.

 

Terry lives in St. Augustine with his wife, Yu, who was born and raised in mainland China.  In his free time he enjoys learning Chinese, exploring the great outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  Always fascinated by other cultures, Terry has traveled to China, India, Israel, Egypt and Jordan.
